While the fashion crowd is moving from Milan to Paris for the last stop in “fashion month,” we are not quite ready to leave Italy. It’s not just the pasta, art, and history that captures attention. Brands like Gucci, Fendi, Prada, and Ferragamo have long-standing reputations for luxury handbags. Let’s see what Fall 2025 has in the bag from these brands.
For starters, get ready for fur, and lots of it. Whether real or faux, and likely a mix of both, the fuzzy stuff hit the runways big time. Seen on skirts, coats, accessories, and, yes, handbags, the looks are meant to be elegant and rich.

Also seen for Fall 2025 are bags we’ve seen before. Of course, there are some new styles, but there are repeats of current and older bags.
Fendi Plays Peekaboo and iSpy
There was no mistaking the Peekaboos and Baguettes on Fendi’s Fall 2025 runway. But was that a Spy bag too? For those unfamiliar, this is a 2000s-era hit bag – large and slouchy.
As Fendi looked backward and forward in celebration of the brand’s 100th anniversary, there were winks to the many decades of its history. And who could miss the giant doll charms, architectural crescent bag, and Pantone’s mocha mousse – the color of 2025?

Gucci Still Loves the Horsebit
Without a head designer since the departure of Sabata de Sarno, there was anticipation that Gucci might use the Fall 2025 show to announce a successor. Alas, it did not. Rather, the design team prepared this presentation. For handbags, it included repeat and revised themes of the long-standing horsebit and bamboo handles.

Prada Keeps Bowling Along
Not that they ever went out of style, but Prada’s bowling bag returned to the runway for Fall 2025. Long straps carried by hand showed on repeat, with east-west styles dominating. Many bags included chain straps, and there was an interesting take on a bucket bag. Prada’s subtle reference to mocha mousse came in the form of a brown ombre, reminiscent of its fabulous Spring 2004 collection, still a favorite of many.

Ferragamo Goes For a Hug
It’s not just a bag, it’s a full-body Hug for Ferragamo. A double Hug belt emphasized the prominence of this bag style for the brand. Since its introduction in Ferragamo’s Fall 2023 lineup, the Hug has been one of its most popular (and promoted) styles. Not to be missed is the fur-strapped sandal peeking through.
