The New Hermès Kelly Jump Bag is Here

The Hermès Kelly family, known for its diverse and coveted designs, has a new addition — the Kelly Jump. This fresh take on a classic pays homage to the Kelly Ado backpack while incorporating elements from the more contemporary Kelly Moove, creating the perfect practical hybrid.

Like Kelly Ado, the Kelly Jump is a practical backpack, with a new contemporary aesthetic. The original Kelly Ado, introduced in 1996 and designed by Rena Dumas, was known for its minimalist Retourne silhouette. This design featured Hermès’ signature sangles and touret closure, elements synonymous with the iconic Kelly and Birkin. These classic features are now seamlessly incorporated into the Kelly Jump.

While the Kelly Jump shares the silhouette of the Kelly Ado, it incorporates pocket detailing from the Kelly Moove for extra utility. The added single pouch pocket, secured with sangles and the touret fastening, allows easy access to your lipstick, keys, or credit cards. Additionally, Hermès offers a matching small leather goods item, designed to resemble the Kelly Jump’s mini pouch. This practical bag charm can be attached to the Kelly Jump for an extra dose of H charm.

Currently, the Kelly Jump has been seen in two different sizes. There is a mini version, which seems similar to the Kelly Ado 22 cm (approximately 7.4 x 8.85 x 3.5 inches) or possibly even smaller. Additionally, there appears to be a larger, more spacious version that might be comparable to the Kelly Ado 26 cm, but without the top handle (about 10.6 x 10.2 x 4.3 inches). However, we are still waiting for official confirmation of these measurements. The Kelly Jump’s adjustable shoulder straps attach to the bag via a central ring, a design that echoes the Kelly Ado design.

So far, the Kelly Jump has been released exclusively in Swift leather, known for its soft, supple feel, semi-smooth finish, durability, and excellent color absorption. It has been spotted in classic Hermès colors such as Noir, Étoupe, and Gold, as well as colorful shades like Jaune Milton and a green similar to Vert Verone, with both Gold and Palladium-plated hardware options. Rumors are also circulating among the handbag community that an Ostrich leather version may be on the horizon.
