The Louis Vuitton train is imminently departing for the Fall-Winter 2025 collection. Nicolas Ghesquière transported us to a bustling Parisian train station on March 10, 2025, setting the stage for a journey infused with the Maison’s signature spirit of travel.

Breaking from its usual venue at the Louvre, this season’s show took place next door at Gare du Nord, within Étoile du Nord – the former headquarters of a historic railway company that predates France’s national railway. Emphasizing the theme from the very start, digital invites mimicked train tickets, offering a first glimpse into the world Louis Vuitton had envisioned.

Louis Vuitton describes the scenography as:
”where fleeting moments are shared amongst strangers.”
This sentiment complements the collection’s dynamic, travel-inspired energy, with Ready-to-Wear pieces designed for the next great escape. Rather than adhering to a singular concept, Ghesquière introduced a cast of individual characters, each with their own distinct style. The range spans from cozy knitwear and layered ensembles—ideal for a weekend in the countryside—to breezy pleated maxi dresses, perfect for a winter getaway. Staying true to his signature silhouettes, the collection also featured structured tailoring, from sharp pinstripes to bold, abstract graphic prints.

It comes as no surprise that the travel theme carried seamlessly into the handbag collection – after all, Louis Vuitton’s legacy is built on its travel heritage. Models appeared ready for departure, carrying everything from soft canvas luggage – including fresh interpretations of travel icons like the Keepall – to chic vanity cases, structured hard-sided trunks, and the new Express Bag. While Louis Vuitton’s signature Monogram canvas arrived with the collection, including notable trim details on the Express bag and trunk styles, it shifted to make room for a stronger emphasis on the brand’s original pattern, the Damier.

Let’s take a closer look at the latest bags for Fall-Winter 2035…
Keepall
A true travel icon since 1930, the Keepall made its grand entrance as the first accessory on the runway. This season, it was reimagined in two striking new styles. The first featured a rich, dark brown embossed finish, reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s iconic Empreinte leather, enhanced with a subtle sheen and complemented by matte black trim. The second was a bold, monochrome rendition crafted from white leather Epi with smooth black leather accents, creating a sharp contrast.

Express Bag
A fresh take on the classic travel silhouette, Louis Vuitton introduced the all-new Express Bag – that reads like a more unstructured and understated version of the Speedy. Retaining the soft structure of the house’s iconic travel bags but with a noticeably slouchier, more effortless feel, the Express Bag aligns with Louis Vuitton’s low-key handbag lineup. Crafted in smooth leather, it features a discrete ‘Louis Vuitton Paris’ heat stamp on the front, a signature detail of the understated range. The straps and overall detailing are noticeably thinner, tracking its refined, minimal aesthetic.

The Express Bag features a zip-top closure and contrasting trim – some versions accented with Monogram canvas, paired with a coordinating luggage tag. It includes slim shoulder straps as well as a detachable longer strap for shoulder carry. Showcased in a range of sizes, from compact to full travel dimensions, the duffle debuted in an array of colorways, including black, gray, brown, red, tri-color pastels, and tan croc-embossed suede. Whether styled handheld or worn on the shoulder, it offered a fresh yet familiar take on Louis Vuitton’s travel DNA.

East-West Crescent Bag
Boasting a silhouette reminiscent of Louis Vuitton’s Boulogne, this new crescent-shaped bag is reimagined in a more compact form with an elongated east-west profile. Carried by its curved top handle on the runway, the bag features a sleek zip-top closure and a leather handle with a detachable chain strap. This fresh design was showcased in two sizes, presented in classic Damier Ebene, a glossy deep chocolate brown version of Louis Vuitton’s Empreinte leather, as well as a tan croc edition.

Duo Belt Bag
Louis Vuitton doubles down on one of its most popular styles – the belt (or bum) bag. Here, the Duo Belt Bag consists of two satchel-style bags reminiscent of the vintage Saumur design. Much like the duo Hug bag seen at Milan Fashion Week from Ferragamo, this Duo Belt Bag was wrapped around the waist of models on the runway via a narrow leather belt. The bag was presented in Damier Azur, Damier Graphite, and the classic Monogram, offering a modern yet nostalgic twist on the classic bum bag design.

Papillon
Another blast from the past is reimagined as Louis Vuitton takes its iconic Papillon silhouette (a style also revived by Murakami this season), and blends it with elements from the Saumur for a striking hybrid look. While retaining the signature cylindrical shape of the Papillon, this updated design features slimmer, more elongated shoulder straps for a modern feel and a mini handle at each end. The top flap opening and buckle fastening, borrowed from the Saumur satchel, add a functional yet nostalgic touch. Presented in Monogram canvas with deep tan leather accents, the bag evokes the aged patina of Vachetta, offering a worn-in feel.

Montsouris Tote
The iconic Montsouris backpack transforms for Fall, deconstructing its classic shape and evolving into a chic tote bag. Once placed at the front, the signature pockets are now repositioned on each side, adding a touch of utilitarian appeal. Retaining its signature drawstring closure and flap fastening secured with a buckle, this reimagined style was showcased in Monogram canvas with classic Vachetta leather.

Montsouris Backpack
There’s a classic Montsouris backpack, too. Intended for a new era of travel, the Montsouris departs from its traditional Monogram canvas, embracing an exotic twist. Crafted in glossy ochre-yellow crocodile skin, this luxurious take offers a bold, fresh look. Casually slung over one shoulder on the runway, this statement Montsouris was styled with a silk scarf, flowing effortlessly from inside the bag to cascade outside.

Alma
Continuing with the exotic theme, the Alma also receives a luxurious update in a shiny crocodile skin, presented in a soft, pale pastel green.
Another striking transformation for the Alma is its bold monochrome makeover. Much like the Keepall, the Alma is now crafted from black and white Epi leather. The bag’s body is primarily black, with a contrasting white base and matching white handles, creating a graphic, eye-catching contrast.

Shoulder Dora Soft Tote
A decade after Nicolas Ghesquière first reimagined the iconic Dora for Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2015 collection, the bag makes its return to the runway. Bridging the gap between its original structured form and the more relaxed Dora Soft Tote, this new iteration is crafted from smooth leather and retains the reinforced corners of its predecessor. However, it now introduces extended top handles, offering the versatility of both hand and shoulder carry.

Petite Malle Slim
The iconic Petite Malle slims down for Fall. This revamped design features a sleek, slim silhouette while embracing a more hardware-intensive aesthetic. Complete with a short detachable shoulder strap, this chic clutch can be styled with or without the strap. The updated Petite Malle was showcased in light gray and vibrant red Epi leather, both paired with silver-toned hardware.

LV Biker
Everyone in attendance seemed to have an LV Biker bag, but surprisingly, it appeared just once on the Fall-Winter 2025 runway. Debuting in the Spring-Summer 2025 collection, the Nano iteration was showcased for Fall in a combination of tweed with metallic thread running through it – reminiscent of Chanel – paired with contrasting black smooth leather.

Side Trunk
Another one of Nicolas Ghesquière’s most iconic designs, first introduced in the Cruise 2023 collection, the Side Trunk, also strolled the runway only once. The bag received the same glossy dark brown leather makeover seen on the Keepall, new Hobo style, and Nice BB.

Dauphine Soft
For Fall, the Dauphine Soft evolves into a bold statement piece. Reimagined in deep chocolate brown leather, it features vibrant floral-inspired embroidery in striking shades of green and fuchsia. The bag was carried by its leather top handle on the runway, while a gold-tone chain gracefully hung down the front.

Louis Vuitton x Kraftwerk
Louis Vuitton teams up with the iconic German electronic band Kraftwerk, bringing a unique fusion of music and fashion to a handful of garments and accessories. Spotted on the runway was a reimagined Duomo bowling bag crafted in Damier Béton canvas. It’s elevated with striking electric blue piping and features a dedicated Kraftwerk “Trans-Europe Express” print on the front, a nod to the band’s 1977 hit.

Vanity’s & Briefcases
As a natural fit for a travel-inspired collection, vanity cases made their mark on the Fall-Winter 2025 runway. First up was a striking Monogram canvas design, adorned with a graphic grid pattern in khaki, nude, white, and dark brown. The mix of materials, including suede, creates a rich, textured grid effect, offering a modern twist on the classic Monogram. Alongside this, a larger, briefcase-style was also presented. This larger, more elongated east-west version featured a similar textured finish to the front, with teal, red, and tan running through the pattern.

The collection included the beloved Nice BB, reimagined in the same glossy dark brown leather inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic Empreinte, which was also seen on the Keepall and the new Hobo style in the collection.

First introduced in the 1970s and 1980s, the Serviette Fermoir makes a return for Fall 2025. This structured briefcase remains faithful to its heritage, showcasing the signature Monogram canvas, complemented by a Vachetta leather top handle and secured with the distinctive S-lock fastening.

Louis Vuitton’s Tressage Tote undergoes a transformation for Fall-Winter 2025, evolving into a miniature version of a carry-on suitcase. Originally launched in Spring 2016, this updated design flips the classic elongated top-handle tote into a compact, horizontal shape. The new structure mimics the look and feel of hard-sided luggage, with a chunky top handle integrated into its sleek, boxy frame. Crafted from Reverse Monogram canvas, the bag is encased in smooth black leather with reinforced corners.

Trunks
Contrasting with the Fall-Winter 2025 collection’s soft, slouchy approach to luggage, no Louis Vuitton show would be complete without its signature hard-sided pieces. The first wave of designs included glossy hat boxes primed for the Orient Express, alongside hand-held trunks featuring abstract printed Epi leather with bold horizontal stripes. The pattern, reminiscent of those found on train seating in France, added a nostalgic nod to the lineup. Showcased in pale yellow and red, each paired with colorful stripes.

Then, there were more unconventional pieces that caught the eye – instrument cases, including Viola and ukulele cases that were presented in two iconic Louis Vuitton canvases – Damier Azur and Monogram.

Lantern Bag
Last but not least in the handbag category, reminiscent of the late Virgil Abloh’s whimsical handbag designs, such as his iconic airplane bag, Nicolas Ghesquière offers his own sculptural take. Harking back to the collection’s strong Parisian theme, this statement piece is crafted to resemble a classic Parisian lamp post lantern. Made from black with black hardware, it features intricate detailing that mirrors the elegance of the city’s iconic lanterns, as well as a light-up mechanism inside to light the way. A sleek top handle completes the design, allowing for hand carry.
The lantern bag was also presented in a Monogram canvas design at the Louis Vuitton Presentations.

Other Accessories
For those seeking an alternative to a traditional bag, Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2025 collection introduces a standout accessory that could become the season’s must-have. The new Louis Vuitton scarf offers dual purposes. Crafted from a soft (likely cashmere) wool, it features a Damier Ebene canvas pocket secured with the Maison’s signature S-Lock. Whether wrapped around you for extra coziness or used to store easy-to-reach essentials, or both, this chic piece is a versatile addition to Louis Vuitton’s lineup.
