It’s already been a week since the royal wedding, but we at PurseBop remain obsessed. We are still disappointed that our invitation must have been lost in the mail, LOL, but poring over photographs for details must suffice.
Naturally, we’re checking out those handbags. More precisely, perhaps, we should say clutches or even box-style clutches. There were a lot of those, from the bride’s mother Doria Ragland dressed in Oscar de la Renta with a box clutch presumably by Oscar as well, to the step-mother-in-law Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall with a skin-type clutch, to Serena Williams with a white box clutch.
And then there were those guests with a different holding pattern. One of our – and apparently everyone else’s – favorite looks was Lady Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece, herself a model. To a stunning green print Dolce & Gabbana dress and Philip Treacy hat, she added orange velvet pumps and a clutch. Spectacular. We are assuming the bag was either Dolce & Gabbana or bespoke.
Oprah Winfrey strayed from the box and went with a beige hand held round bag by Gabriela Hearst (perhaps the Nina). As you may recall reading, the night before the big event, Oprah realized her beige Stella McCartney dress wasn’t quite right as it would appear white, so the brand created a pale pink dress overnight.
Actress Priyanka Chopra’s rectangular clutch appeared to be the popular Dior diorama, paired with a Vivienne Westwood dress.
Princess Eugenie, another of Prince Harry’s cousins, looked very Jackie O in a dress with a pillbox hat, yet went a bit fashion forward with a metal handle bag by M2Malletier. It looks to us like the AmorFati bag which retails for just under $2000.
Sabrina Dhowre, Idris Elba’s fiancée, went full on Gucci, from her ensemble right down to her bag. She was one of the few we saw sporting a shoulder bag. This one looks like Gucci’s Sylvie line.
Last but not least, International attorney and law professor Amal Clooney, arrived along with her actor husband George, in a Stella McCartney dress, but kept the handbag in the family. Her box clutch is by her sister’s eponymous line Tala.
