Did you know that there is outlet shopping in Paris, France? That’s right, on top of all the amazing top-end designer shops on Champs-Élysées, rue Saint-Honoré, and Avenue Montaigne, there are discounted designer shops at the La Vallée Village outside of Paris. Located 40 minutes outside the city, 5 minutes away from Disneyland Paris and a short walk from the nearest Metro stop, it’s an easy day trip.
Whether it’s worth the trip though depends on what you’re looking for. Naturally, die-hard bargain hunters looking for a “cheap” (it’s all relative) thrill, may find it a fun and exciting adventure. While you won’t find the latest season’s ready-to-wear and handbags, this outlet still has a plethora of goodies to be found.
La Vallée Village is no small outlet mall. There are 110 stores to explore in this outdoor shopping center, including designers like Celine, Gucci, Prada, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Loewe, Dolce & Gabbana, Chloé, Fendi, Maje, Moncler, Golden Goose, Valentino, and Christian Louboutin. Of course, notice who’s absent from this list – Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. C’est dommage!
How to Get There
It’s a 40 minute drive from the heart of Paris. You can Uber, taxi, metro or take the outlet mall bus there.
The Shuttle Shopping Express offers full day and half day trip options. It departs from Paris at Quartier de Bercy, 20 Place des Vins de France, 75012 Paris. It requires an advance reservation by 5pm the day before your shopping trip.
Shuttle Pricing Information
- Half-day ticket: €25 per adult and €15 per child, ages 3–11 (free for children under 3)
- Full day ticket: €30 per adult and €20 per child, ages 3–11 (free for children under 3)
You can book your tickets here.
If you opt for the Metro from Paris, take the RER train (Line A) to Val d’Europe station. When you arrive, turn right out of the station and walk through the Val d’Europe shopping mall to reach La Vallée Village, just a few minutes’ walk away.
On our visit, we opted to take an Uber from our hotel to the La Vallée Village. The approximate cost was 69 euros. This was a great time to take a nap and catch up on jet lag.
As this is an outdoor venue, remember to check the weather before you go. Carrying sopping wet paper bags in the rain can put a damper on the shopping. Luckily, though, when we visited the outlet, the Village was beautifully decorated in holiday style.
Celine
The first store we entered was Celine. The bag selection was a small edit compared to the ready-to-wear. These are the only bags that were available:
Gucci
The Gucci store had a line outside the door. There is a QR code located on the stanchions in front of the line. This allows you to go shop or eat elsewhere while you wait. After you open the link, enter your information and Gucci will text you when it’s your turn to shop. The store has a variety of stock and many bags from previous seasons, limited editions and tons of shoes and ready-to-wear.
Saint Laurent
The selection of ready-to-wear and the savings was pretty amazing at Saint Laurent. We purchased a skirt and blouse for 75% of the original retail price.
This python crossbody bag was 20% off, at 1,515 Euros compared to the original retail at 1,890 Euros.
These leopard print calf hair pumps were discounted 55% at 360 Euros compared to the original retail price of 795 Euros.
Prada & Miu Miu
At the Prada/Miu Miu store we found a generous selection of bags, shoes and clothing. A puffer jacket that originally retailed for 1,700 euros was tagged at half-price – 850 euros.
Bottega Veneta
At Bottega Veneta, bags were 30% off retail price while shoes were 50% off retail price.
Loewe
Loewe’s outlet boutique’s offerings included a number of handbags. However, the available options seemed to be the brand’s unpopular styles. Therefore, the choices were definitely limited.
Chloé
At the Chloé boutique we observed a shelf of handbags in a variety of sizes as well as ready-to-wear. These were past seasons’ bags and clothing from the previous fall and winter line.
Where to Eat
If you get hungry, grab a quick bite at Ladurée. There’s nothing like a macaron in France for a quick shopping energy boost! For something more substantial, try Prêt A Manger or Starbucks to fuel your jet lagged shopping.
For extra discounts and perks, register for a free membership from the La Vallée Village website here. You can receive extra amenities, like lounge access, extra discounts and even hands-free shopping.
La Vallée Village is located at 3 Cr de la Garonne, 77700 Serris, France.
Happy Shopping!
